Armand does not have any redeeming qualities as he is a strict man and is hot tempered. Armand’s motivation is money and his plantation and slaves on Louisiana. He comes from a mixed race and is wealthy because of the things he owns. Armand is part black and does not know that his mom is black as well. He does have a choice at the end but decides to let Desiree go.

Armand did had some redeeming because before his son was born he was all over desiree he was all about her so he did had some redeeming qualities but then again he is not very redeeming because he feels that he owns desiree and his baby because of there race he is racist and cruel. What motivates him is that he has money and owns a plantation, and how he has slves so he feels that he is over everyone . His backround is that he is wealthy and is half white and black he feels if he where a slave hates his self and ancestors including his child he owns a plantation , with slaves . He did have a choice of he wanting to be with desiree and his baby but because they where half black he felt like he owened them and let them go

Because he feels cursed about his race and just dosent feel anything for them two anymore . What motivates him is that he has money and owns a plantation ,and how he has slaves so he thinks that he is over everyone so that is what motivates . I would say that his son motivates him but he dosen’t, because he feels that the baby is being owened . His background is that he is wealthy and is half white and black he owns a plantation and thinks that he is cursed because of his black ancestors , and thinks that if he where to be with his baby he feels that he owns him and doesn’t want to be close with them and wants to be away from them .so his background is bad because he doesn’t want his family. He did have a choice of he wanting to be with desiree and his baby but because the kid was half black he didn’t want the kid , I know this because desiree asked him do you want me to go he responded with yes I want you to go , and at that point desiree thought of maybe he would say something if she leaves but it was quiet so at that point yes armand did had a choice for them not to leave, so it was his fault they left and doesn’t really care at this point.

Armand's actions are not redeeming, they're unforgivable. His "qualities" are not sympathetic whatsoever. I do not feel bad for Armand because he didn't feel bad for the mother of his child nor his child. Armand was being hypocritical with the fact that he was mixed, half black. Armand was being selfish to the mother of his child. Not only Armand was being selfish, he was more selfish when Desiree killed herself and the baby, Armand burned all their belongings so he can forget her and his son. What motivates Armand? Armand has his own reason to dislike the mother of his child and his son. He was motivated because his son was black, well mixed. Armand almost looks like he feels no guilt whatsoever. Armand's background. armand is cruel and racists. Armand's Armand did have a choice at the end. Yet he decided to do what he did. He did not have to burn their belongings to forget about them.

Armand did have some redeeming qualities. Before his son, he only cared about Desiree. He is also not very redeeming. One reason he isn’t redeeming is because racist. He then pushes his wife and child away because one reminds him of what he is not (white) and what he is (half black.) Money motivates him, and him being a “white male”. He is also motivated by his plantation. His background is. he is rich. His father was white and his mother was black. He was born with white skin and did not know his mother was black. He did have a choice when Desiree asked him “Do you want me to go?” She gave him a choice. He chooses to let them go. Therefore, it is his fault they leave.

I feel as though Armand does not have any redeeming qualities. I mean he assumed that his wife was black or biracial and because of that he cast her out only to find out he was biracial. It was only after she and the baby died that he found out he was biracial. Armand also ignored his wife to the point where she was miserable and when she shows him her adoptive mothers letter he said he wanted to go back home. I feel as though his child motivates his because his wife said when the baby was born he did not beat any of the slaves. She also said that when the slave who pretended to burn his leg so he could get off work Armand just laughed it off. His wife also said that he is the proudest father. That is why I feel as though his child, whether it’d be a boy or girl, is his motivation. Armand is a slave owner that is biracial but he does not know that he is. He also has a wife a child. Armand was the type of man that bought his wife’s love and she did not care. I feel as though he does not really treat his slaves right. Armand is also the type of man that does not like black people which he finds out later that he is biracial himself. At the end of the story Armand does have a choice because he could have chosen to keep them with him or let them leave. He ended up choosing to let them go and when he did that his wife killed their child and herself.

No he did not have any redeeming qualities all he did was fallen in love with Desiree. Later in the story he turned happy for a short time he wasn't beating the slaves as much as he use to even though they made excuses to not work. He had bought Desiree and he married Armand and had a child. He was cruel and racist person and was strict to the Negroes. The baby and Desiree were the thing that motivated him.
Armand was part black himself not knowing that he had a child. One day his wife woke up a noticed that the child was black and Armand assumed that she was black. Then Armand started to act strange and then Armand said to Desiree that he doesn't love her no more and Desiree left with the child. He was motivated by his money and the plantation and that he feels that he was above everyone. that is what motivates Armand in the story.
Armand was wealthy man had a lot of money he bought a lot of expansive thing to Desiree and the baby. He was also half black and he was a racist cruel person to the slaves. he hates the he is part black himself. Armand was a strict person to his salves and to his people. he was weathly part black and was strict, cruel, racist, person.
He did have a choice of wanting Desiree and the baby. when he notice that the bay was black he did not love Desiree and the baby no more and he told desiree to leave. desiree left with the baby never to be heard of again. Armand had choice and he decide to let them go. Armand let them go and they were never heard of again.

I do not have any qualities for Armand. Armand is a ungrateful person who does not care about or appreciate what he has. Armand does not thinks about the things he wants to do or does and what there results may be. He made Desiree feel bad about the baby being mixed and her possibility of being black or mixed. Armand let skin color decide the result of the relationship they had.

NICHOLAS BURKE
Does Armand have any redeeming qualities in my opinion no because he didn’t feel sorry after he was the person with the black in him and he thought desire was black so he told her and the baby to get out his house and she committed suicide and killed the baby just because the baby was black but it was really happened.
What motives him to be so angry? He’s racist so he wouldn’t want no black in his son so when he found out his son was partially black he got very mad.
What is his background? His background is he is white also owned slaves her had a plantation that’s why he has so much hatred towards black folks he also lives in a very big house married a white woman and had a kid that is partially black
Does Armand have a choice at the end of the story regarding desire no because he made her kill herself and the baby for something that wasn’t even true he was the one who was the one that was black

Armand doesn't have any redeeming qualities. His motivations are his slaves and plantation. Another motivation that Armand has is money. Armand is wealthy and is half black. He left Desiree and the baby because the baby was half black and he didn't like that. Armand was racist so that is why he left the baby behind.

No there are no quality that will make me feel bad for him. Armond is a bad person who doesn’t appreciate what he has. He acts without thinking about the outcomes and didn’t investigate that other possibilities for why the baby was mixed. The fact that he made her feel like that automatically fell like that makes him a bad person. He can’t let her skin color be a barrier for the love that they share. The reason that this all happened was because Armond was being a racist. He despises negros and half negros. Just so happened that his son is half black and he thinks that he is white while his wife is black. That causes him to act out towards his wife causing her to leave. Later on he learns that he is the black person in the family. Armand background defines who and what he is. The fact that his parents told him that he was white made this whole misconception start in the first place. But even when he thought he was white he had a hatred for black people. He has a plantation that works black people to pick cotton. He has a child that appears to be black. He doesn’t have a choice because he messed everything up. He can’t change something if it’s too late like when his child and wife dies. When the he decide that she would disown her that was the end of what he had to say about her coming back.
