Dear Mrs. Jones
the night you took me to your home meant a lot to me. I know what I tried to do in the event before that was a bad choice, but you decided to care for me. At that time i thought for sure that i was going to end up in jail, but you gave me the honor to go to your home so that i could wash up my face and eat supper.Even after you supper you told me a little about yourself and lectured me about behaving, as well as gave me 10 dollars to go and buy some blue sued shoes. I am really sorry for the trouble I had caused and wanted to thank you for being so nice to me. This meant so much to me bacause there is no one at my home, and it gets lonely at times.
sincerely Roger

Dear Mrs. Jones First of all, I am sorry for the way we met. That was one of the most embarrassing times in my life. At that time, I was at a low because I was a poor orphan kid without any money. I had to live off what I stole from people just to get by. That night my stomach was hurting because I hadn’t eaten for two days and I wanted a pair of shoes and I saw an opportunity to make some easy money so that I could eat. So, I tried to steal your check book. When I came up to you and tried to snatch your purse I fell for some reason. You had me get you things off the ground while you were talking to me. You asked me a series of questions on the way to your house where I thought you were going to take me to jail. There you did something that I thought that no one would do for me. Even though I did you wrong you treated me with hospitality. That night you changed me, I stopped stealing things and I started to work for what I wanted. I got a job and now I am a man helping kids out just like you helped me. PS: I still have the shoes that you bought be. Sincerely Yours Roger.

Dear Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones,
Hello Mrs. Jones. It is me Roger. You helped me ten years ago. I tried to take your purse while you were walking home from the hotel beauty-shop that you worked at. You welcomed me into your house with open arms. You fed me, helped me look more presentable, but most importantly you talked to me. You told me about your past life, although you didn’t tell me much I was inspired by it. You were once a troubled teen like I was, but you cleaned up your act. I am now the CEO of an organization that helps the troubled youth. We take in kids just like me and give them hope for their future. Most of the days we teach them things that they need to learn before they go out into the big scary world that we live in today. Every Sunday we feed them lima beans and ham. After I make them some cocoa out of sweet canned milk. As we eat the nostalgic meal we talk about why they are here, and what progression they have made since they have been staying here. I wanted to thank you properly. Thank you, Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones, I never forgot about like you said I would. You have inspired me to be these kids Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones. I just hope I can inspire them the way you have. Respectfully, Roger

Dear Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones, I’m hoping you’ll remember me. I was that boy who tried to snatch your purse ten years ago. You took me in your home, talked to me and fed me. That conversation we had that night changed me Mrs. Jones. You do not understand. You made me see a whole different perspective that night. I felt motivated enough to get a job instead of stealing purses. I started to attend school instead of skipping days. I worked hard in school so I graduated. I want to become a lawyer go here I am, still in school. I met a girl, Anna. I met Anna at my best friend’s bar mitzvah. Me and Anna have a three-year-old son, Leonardo. I’m pretty sure you’ll love Anna. Remember when I told you that night when no one was home. Growing up I never really lived with family. I never settled in one place either. When I was fifteen, I always thought my life was always going to be horrible, like nothing was ever going to be good for me. I felt like I was going through a lot, I was so young, I was only fifteen at the time. It was all because of you I have always had hope for myself. I always believed everything would get better. It did. I want to thank you for everything you had taught me in just one night. Thank you again, Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones. Sincerely, Roger

Dear Ms.Jones,
I never got the chance to thank you before you shut the door. I want to thank you for teaching me right from wrong. It was wrong that I tried to snatch your pocket book, and for that I am sorry. I want to thank you for allowing me to wash my face. I also want to thank you for feeding me that night. At first I was frightened by you, and I still kind of was before I left. I know I could have left and ran out your door , but I didn't. I am young and foolish for ruining your pocket book and breaking the strap. I guess you were right and I could have asked you to help me get a pair of blue suede shoes. Thank you again for the lessons and the ten dollars. Sincerely, Roger.
